BIOGRAPHY

Hochima Denise Treppa was born February 5, 1954, in Hollywood, CA. She received her B.A. in Psychology and in Expressive Arts at Sonoma State University in 1982.

Her Expressive Arts major entailed a wide diversity of studies, ranging from music psychology to theater to women’s and men's liberation studies to nutrition. She went on to a major in Counseling and graduated with an M.A. in 1987. She received her license in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling (MFT) in 1993.

She has worked in counseling from 1979 to the present in many agencies throughout Sonoma County. She has special training in Children's Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Childhood Depression, Grief Counseling, Emergency Response, Research based Couples’ Counseling, Integrative Body Psychotherapy, Psych-K, The Emotions Code, Somatic Experiencing,

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, (EMDR), Divorce Counseling, Neurofeedback, issues of Adult Children of Alcoholics, Substance Abuse Studies, and issues of Sexual Abuse. She also has training in hypnotherapy & is a practicing hypnotherapist.

She is a current member of the California Association of Marriage, Family and Child Therapists, and has been since 1989.
